Lord felthius and the tainted cohort datasheet

Lord Felthius will be used as a Lord of Contagion armed with a Manreaper. While he is not a named Character with his own rules, I will still use him as Lord Felthius as I like the story arc that he was given in the Conquest magazine.

Unfortunately these guys are an understrength unit and so I need to get some more Blightlord Terminators to make them legal. With Games Workshop now discontinuing Lord Felthius and the Tainted Cohort, I had hoped that they had their own named Datasheet and so they could still be taken as a legal unit.

As the Tainted Cohort just use the Blightlord Terminators datasheet, their minimum unit size is five models and so I need to increase their number.

So, I'm new to Warhammer 40k. By that, I mean that I got my first box set, the Dark Imperium for my birthday earlier this month.

As I was pouring over my new prospective hobby and began clipping out my model pieces, I found myself becoming surprisingly enamored of the Death Guard's style when not colored that ugly pale green.

Deciding to see about putting some investment into this faction, I went onto Amazon with extra B-day money and pruchased the box set of Lord Felthius and the Tainted Cohort. Upon opening the box and reading their stats, however, I couldn't help but notice some oddities.

lord felthius and the tainted cohort datasheet

So, Felthius is clearly just a modified Lord of Contagion, such as came in the Dark Imperium set, but there is something off with his datasheet. Specifically, he has advantages a regular Lord doesn't have, such as the "Death to the False Emperor" ability and a manreaper that does 3 damage, rather than D3. These, naturally, make him significantly more powerful than the Lord that came in my box set. However, his power is listed as 7 - two below the newer Lord!

So, since I still want to use Felthius and his boys in my budding Nurgle army and since I can't find an answer to this via Google searching, I wanted to come here to get a consensus from the community: How do I adjust these older datasheets to use them in a modern game? Do I let Felthius and the Cohort keep their advantages and raise their assumed power level, or do I remove the advantages and just have Felthius be a normal Lord of Contagion?

He seems special, so I'd prefer he have something special, but I'm willing to do what I must to use him in an acceptable game. Whichever way I adjust things, what are Felthius and the Cohort unit's point totals for the purposes of building an army by points? Sorry to be so long-winded on my first post, but I'm excited to work on getting into wargaming after years of not having the money to even think about it.

Look around you, everywhere The cruelty of nature is displayed! Why the scorn? Why the surprise? Everything that's born must die, And it isn't I who made the world that way! Well, this is a bit complicated. Usually you use the most recent published rules, which is CA But neither lord felthius nor his cohort is in there.

So its probably the death guard codex, which has points for the cohort, but not for lord felthius.

So the most recent published rules for him are the ETB box, dark imperium box, or index. I dont know which of these is the latest release. On their datasheet I don't see any rule agains it but I'm new in the hobby and there are so many exception in rules in hidden places On Battlescribe, the TaintedCohort is treated as a special unit, although the minimum size for blightlords is usually 5 figures per unit.

As i said, on Battlescribe, there is a special unit called "felthius cohort" listed under elites that contains the 3 blightlords with a specific Equipment.

Add to cart. Many and varied are the diseased champions who lead the Death Guard to war. From single colonies, through vectoriums and sepsis cohorts, right up to the plague companies and the ships of the Plague Fleets, Death Guard Lords hold positions of command throughout the Traitor Legion's rank Lord Felthius, clad in Terminator armour and accompanied by his 3-strong Tainted Cohort, is a notable example.

Designed to be as easy as possible to assemble for new hobbyists while being detailed enough for the hardiest veteran to appreciate, this set contains Lord Felthius, a Death Guard Chaos Lord in Terminator Armour and his Tainted Cohort, made up of 3 Blightlord Terminators. Push-fit, with no glue required, these are incredibly straightforward to put together, and come on pre-coloured green plastic sprues.

Lord Felthius is a particularly fine example of a Chaos Lord who truly loves his work despite or possibly because of his pitted, rotting Terminator armour, his face is modelled in a cheerful rictus, staring proudly at the plague censer held aloft in his right hand which is dripping viscous fluids of an unpleasantly diseased nature. His armour is decorated with chainmail, furs and a boil-covered cloak, and the manreaper in his left hand features connectors and pipes that allow it to secrete diseased fluids that infect everything it touches.

His accompanying Tainted Cohort are no less horrific 3 Blightlord Terminators. These are armed with the following: 1 carries a combi-bolter and balesword, 1 carries a combi-bolter and bubotic axe, and 1 wields a plaguespitter which is a bit, well, dribbly. Each has the horrible, rusted marks of Nurgle you would expect, and the Blightlord Terminator with the balesword is literally bursting with bubo-covered tentacles they're sticking out of where his face should be.

There are even 3 extra little pieces of detail for the bases of these miniatures 3 Nurglings, 1 pulling the pin from a grenade, 1 with a rather sinister grin and 1 which is little more than a quivering, meaty clump of tentacles.

This plastic kit comes as 26 components, and is supplied with 4 40mm Round bases. Rules for these miniatures are included in the box Reviews. Default Title.

Lord Felthius and the Tainted Cohort

Utterly devoted to spreading the Plague God's hideous diseases across realspace, they are living plague vectors whose bloated bodies boast grotesque resilience. All of the kits are multipart, single posed, pre-coloured plastic Citadel miniatures, and are push-fit and push off frame — no glue or clippers required. Sold Out. Resembling a Bloat-drone that has been stripped of its turbines, this strange machine has heavy weapons mounted on its carapace, and its rusting armoured plates can absorb impressive punishment as can its blubbery exposed flesh-parts, which soak up appalling trauma.

Push-fit, with no glue required, this is incredibly straightforward to put together and comes on a pre-coloured green plastic sprue. From the front, it resembles some grotesque armoured vehicle, with a curved carapace featuring the symbol of Nurgle and 2 large, covered tracks. Where this differs from an ordinary attack vehicle, however, is the toothed maw at the bottom. From the rear, the horror continues a third track is visible, along with a mass of flabby flesh, bound into the machine with straps and metal.

The Myphitic Blight-hauler is armed with a multi-melta and missile launcher, which are mounted either side of the carapace.Sold out. Description Many and varied are the diseased champions who lead the Death Guard to war.

Be they tiny little maggots crawling across armour plating or the option to pop a precious Nurgling right onto a base. However, he only comes with a 40mm base.

The issue here is that Chaos Lords in the codex cannot take Manreapers.

WARHAMMER 40K - Easy to Build Lord Felthius & Tainted Cohort

The confusion seems easily avoided that way. The three terminators come with a static loadout. Sadly, the terminator with a Plaguespewer has no close combat weapon, not a sword or axe to be seen! Just seems a little odd to me. Below you can see the assembled models along with the finished Lord Felthius. The models go together with infinite ease. Compared the Blight Hauler I found that these guys fit together smoother and with far less issue.

Any gaps that are present are much smaller and far more difficult to notice.
